The China-Kazakhstan Crude Oil Pipeline is China's first overland strategic energy import corridor. Since it began operations in 2006, it has run safely and stably for 20 years, with cumulative oil throughput exceeding 1.5 billion tons. I. Project Overview Stretching from Atyrau in Kazakhstan to Alashankou in Xinjiang, China, the pipeline spans 2800 kilometers total—2200 kilometers within Kazakhstan and 600 kilometers within China. Its design annual capacity is 2000 million tons. II. Operational Data In 2025, the pipeline transported 1200 million tons of crude oil, a year-over-year increase of 8%. Cumulative throughput reached 1.5 billion tons, equivalent to approximately 30 days of China's strategic petroleum reserve. III. Strategic Significance As a key component of China's strategy to diversify energy imports, the pipeline has reduced reliance on the Strait of Malacca and enhanced national energy security. IV.
